WES BORLAND Responds To FRED DURST's 'I Wrote Everything' Claim
March 17, 2003Former LIMP BIZKIT guitarist Wes Borland has refuted singer Fred Durst's claim that he "really told [Wes] what to play . . . [and] wrote everything" during Borland's tenure in the group, stating simply that "smart people can tell the truth from a lie" when asked by BLABBERMOUTH.NET to respond to Durst's allegations.
In an interview published in the March 8, 2003 issue of Britain's Kerrang! magazine, Durst played down the impact of Borland's departure from the band, stating that "I really realized after Wes quit, I had to pick up the guitar and write every single song myself, how much I really had to do with LIMP BIZKIT in the first place. That's why Wes wanted his freedom, because I really told him what to play — I wrote everything, did everything."
As previously reported, Borland's new project, EAT THE DAY, have re-launched their singer search after the band's first choice, former STALKING TOM frontman Adam Yas, didn't work out. The band are trying a different approach — offering three downloadable song samples for potential vocalists to sing over. The song samples and details about song submission are available on www.eattheday.com. Meanwhile, LIMP BIZKIT fans can see Durst as guest co-host all week on "Jimmy Kimmel Live".
